Teleneurology Task Force

EAN Task Force on Teleneurology

The creation of the EAN Task Force on Teleneurology began in early 2022 due to the urgency and unavoidability of the topic, particularly in the past during the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim of this Task Force is to approach this huge field by clearly defining what teleneurology means and what implications, challenges, and opportunities it represents in the framework of the on-going digitalisation of medicine and neurology. This Task Force consists of nine members and is chaired by Professor Thomas Berger (EAN Scientific Committee Chair). As patients arguably constitute the biggest part of telemedicine, the European Federation of Neurological Associations (EFNA) was approached from the very beginning and a representative has been nominated; so too has a Resident and Research Fellow Section (RRFS) representative been identified to have the perspective of the next generation of young neurologists.

The initiatives so far:

  • Defining Teleneurology
  • Involvement of EAN Scientific Panels and other stakeholders
  • Creation of a roadmap for the future of Teleneurology
